According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the price of sodium metabisulfite in China had remained weak since the Spring Festival. The average price of industrial grade sodium metabisulfite on February 17th was 2,400.00 RMB/ton, and on February 23rd it was 2,333.33 RMB/ton, a decrease of 2.78% overall.

Market Overview

After the Spring Festival, due to the continuous decline in raw material prices, some enterprises had once again lowered the factory price of sodium metabisulfite, driving the domestic market price of sodium metabisulfite to continue to decline weakly. This week, the domestic industrial grade sodium metabisulfite market price range was 2,250-2,400 RMB/ton. The inventory of the enterprise was about 30%, and the overall supply and demand of sodium metabisulfite market was stable, with the enterprise mainly completing orders from old customers.

After the Spring Festival, the price of upstream raw material soda ash continued to be weak, falling by 4.22% within 7 days, while sulfur prices slightly rebounded, rising by 4.05% overall. Overall, the price of raw materials is showing a downward trend, and the continued weak cost will further suppress the market price of sodium metabisulfite in the future.

Market outlook
